Your devices know more about you than you know about yourself

Linked below is an article from 2012 that highlights how data scientists correlate data between disparate systems to resolve an image or slice of your life and where you're at. We're all deterministic beings, but there are innumerable parameters that ones mind can not see, maybe we're taking all paths at once?

One path I see forward is to eschew the products brought to us by these living demons that call themselves "tech-bros", we can get rid of the Bezoses, the Patels, the Musks, the Zuckerbergs, fuck em where they make their money (our clicks and taps).

The below article is from 2012 but highlights the "infancy" of data in the 21st century, we've unleashed Pandora's Box with the advent of AI. This data was easily collected and correlated by data scientists in the past, in the article below, a teenage girl is sent pre-natal care coupons from Target in USA. Her dad was pissed that a big company was trying to get her pregnant, meanwhile he was unaware she was actually pregnant. Target being a rather large American retail outfit, they have lots of data to correlate. Target profiled this individuals purchases, correlated it to their dataset to find a cohort to assign a weighted value on if there could be and I guess they figured she might be preggo. Target knew she was pregnant before her dad did...

This was in the infancy of smart devices, Apple just being on the scene 4 years earlier with the iPhone.. Today with the advent of NPU (Neural Processing Unit), the on device AI capabilities to correlate data is immense. In any case, we're alll leaving digital breadcrumbs and we need to be mindful of the trash we leave in our wake. The things we do today will help shape tomorrow, and that's enough for me to put one foot in front of another and just have at 'er. Let's take down the monopolies that are making life harder for the average citizen so that future generations don't have to clean up this mess.
